If you've visited Nitetime.net recently, you've seen the Coming Soon page
humming along with flashy lights and my intensely focused--slightly smug--
face in the background. That's not just for show. We're building the minimum
viable product of the new Nitetime.net, and here is a progress update.

This time, I'm not just reliving the old days; I'm building it right. We're
laying a solid foundation, block by block, on Google Cloud Platform. I'm even
doing a surprising amount of it from my iPad. It is a modern app from the
ground up, designed to be fast, scalable, and genuinely useful rather than
repeating the flash-over-function approaches of the past.


A DATE WITH DESTINY (AND MC CHRIS)

The target for opening to the public is July 29.

Why July 29? That's when MC Chris is playing in Madison. He is the perfect
catalyst: I want that show to be the first event proudly featured on the new
Nitetime.net. The site goes live, and there is MC Chris front and center,
signaling the return of relevant nightlife information.

I'm thinking about going down there myself, tossing out Nitetime.net shirts,
connecting with the Madison crowd, and perhaps convincing MC Chris to help
celebrate the rebirth of Madison's nightlife guide.


THE SECRET SAUCE IS COOKING
