THE KEY

The metal key is not a copied key. Its teeth seem to rearrange when you
look away. The stamped words remain stable:

    SIGNAL ACTIVE
    RETURN ONLY

When you hold it near the receiver, Channel 33 appears without being
selected. When you hold it near the hatch, a green line travels around
the lock.

The key is identifying the Garage to something beneath it. It is less a
key than a maintenance credential made physical.
