I am going to start by saying this: if you live in Highwood/Mallwood and want your food delivered ho Written: June 30, 2026 I am going to start by saying this: if you live in Highwood/Mallwood and want your food delivered hot, fresh, and correct, DM me before going to DoorDash. I am pretty sure we can work something out so you actually get what you paid for instead of being stuck with old, dead food. Now, on to the rant. ===================== ATTENTION TO ALL NEWVILLE FAST FOOD: DoorDashers do not make money standing around waiting for your stoned employees to get a clue. The sheer amount of bone-headedness I witness from fast food workers on a daily basis is honestly hard to take. You watch the main hot entrée get made and bagged, then everyone stands around waiting three more minutes for the sides to come out of the fryer. Then, three minutes after that, the drinks finally get poured, lids go on, stickers go on, and by the time I even get out the door, it is not uncommon for the average order to have already been sitting there for 5–10 minutes. Why does not a single adult in the building pull these kids aside and explain that the food should all be coming together at the same time and handed off as one complete order, not piece by piece like they are assembling a scavenger hunt? The last two days have been pure hell. Nobody is making anything before the Dasher shows up, so you just stand there watching them make the customer’s food cold before it even leaves the restaurant. I actually had to yell at the guy at Taco John’s: “CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE ME THAT ORDER? IT IS ALREADY TEN MINUTES LATE, AND YOU ARE TRYING TO PUT A STRAW IN A SEALED BAG LIKE YOU ARE THREADING A NEEDLE.” As a driver who actually cares about people and their money, it is maddening watching the absolute idiocy that happens at every single fast food restaurant, all the time.
