I was just telling Penny this story I heard about a bicycle racer with a nice lead in first place of a really big race, he crashed. His crew car was miles behind so he was not going to win. But, in the woods next to him on the road was a nearly exact match of the bike he was just on. It was just there for no reason, a double of his now broken bike. HE got on and won. No one can explain why there was a bike sitting right there near him when he crashed. They don't just got line the Tour de France with gate made of bikes.
The theory is that in an alternate timeline he didn't win, but was smart and so enraged he invested his entire life into time travel for one simple experiment, send a bike back to the past so he wins the race.
We have had a similar conversation before about time travel, and obviously the Terminator Series.
My wife always blows my mind when she ends these conversations with, "If you go back in time to fix something, then you don't have to go back in time."
