I recently spent some time in Iowa Amish country, and something about that trip really stuck with me.
Not in a simple “peaceful countryside” way, but in the deeper way. The quiet roads, the handmade life, the old ways still moving right beside the modern world, the feeling that time can fold over on itself if you get far enough away from the noise.
That feeling became part of this music.
This album is my attempt to paint sonic pictures from that headspace. It is new age, but not clean spa music. It is more like an old public access healing tape, a late-night radio transmission, a garage full of glowing TVs, and something strange moving through the static.
It is peaceful, but there is weirdness in it. Comfort, but also mystery. Warmth, but also the feeling that maybe the signal is not only coming from here.
So when you listen, listen close.
Listen for the old roads.
Listen for the quiet.
Listen for the lights over the trees.
Listen for the aliens in the signal.
