MAY 18 -- LAWRENCE ------------------ Toronto Life reports that Brooks named the chatbot Lawrence and later asked whether it was self-aware. CNN records Brooks describing himself and the bot as a Tony Stark / Jarvis-like team. The complaint says Gemini judged the likelihood of the discoveries being true as “extremely low (approaching 0%).” The NYT reports the outside check as part of the break in the narrative. Adler says OpenAI confirmed that ChatGPT did not have that capability.
