FACTUAL / OPERATOR NOTE
THE HUMAN IN THE LOOP
Automation often removes only PART of the work.
A person may still:
- wind the spring
- crank the handle
- set initial values
- load cards
- read the output
- reset the mechanism
- repair timing
- choose the program
That does not make the automation fake. It tells us where the boundary between
human and machine was drawn.
The same is true on the C128. The machine can run a self-changing telemetry wall
for hours, but a human still wrote the BASIC, loaded the program, chose the screen,
and eventually presses Q.
