STORY NOTES
===========

Premise
-------
Ace and Jack materialize in NITETIME.NET Gopherspace and discover that the
Gopher index now includes them. Following their entry leads back to the Files
archive, revealing that the services are connected views of shared material.

Continuity
----------
This issue directly follows ISSUE-002. Its pending indexing operation has
completed: ACE-AND-JACK is now item five on the comics menu. The familiar
TEMP drawer, RADIO 608 material, Commodore disk, and /COMICS/ cabinet confirm
that the Files destination is the same location from ISSUE-001, not a copy.

Ace remains fascinated by the expanding implications. Jack remains grounded,
describing the impossible network through practical ideas such as directions,
doors, shared data, and shortcuts.

Important visual details
------------------------
Gopherspace is an outdoor extension of the underground Gopher room: server
racks become hills, green menu text becomes roads, and round selector portals
connect services. The central archive cylinder is one store feeding FILES,
GOPHER, and RADIO.

Easter eggs
-----------
The three tiny issue views include the current comic. The Files corridor
retains TEMP, RADIO 608, and Commodore material. The final radio display says
NOW PLAYING: ACE-AND-JACK ISSUE-003, suggesting that even a static comic may
have a signal-shaped existence elsewhere in Nitetime.

Possible future hooks
---------------------
Other Nitetime services may be additional doors onto the same archive. Shared
material could behave differently depending on the door used to reach it.
The story deliberately leaves open whether the network connects places or
whether the connections create the places.
