"Pre-Flight Check" turns the real work of publishing an archive comic into
a garage-built delivery machine. Ace and Jack face two familiar failures:
one comic was listed twice, and the Files and Gopher views ended up one issue
apart. They remove the duplicate, restore the sequence, and try again.

ISSUE-005 becomes a physical release packet. Ace and Jack watch it pass from
creation into FTP/Files and then onward to the Gopher menu. When it appears
exactly once and on time, the whole publishing apparatus reveals itself as a
handmade aircraft ready to leave the garage.

The story celebrates persistence rather than pretending the earlier trouble
never happened. NITETIME.NET reaches true flight only if ordinary files,
machine-readable metadata, synchronization, and old-Internet discovery all
remain connected.
