NITETIME MUD // COMMUNICATION
============================
The beginner model has four commands: LOCAL, PRIVATE, GLOBAL and
ONLINE. These are different audiences, so choose the one that matches
who should hear you.
LOCAL
Local speech goes to everyone in your current room and nobody
elsewhere. Messages are labeled [LOCAL].
local Anyone hear that?
local say Anyone hear that?
say Anyone hear that?
" Anyone hear that?
' Anyone hear that?
talk Anyone hear that?
Typing `local` with no message shows brief usage. Typing `talk` with
no message opens the in-game communications guide.
PRIVATE
Private speech goes to one connected, in-game character.
private dan Did you find the receiver?
pm dan Did you find the receiver?
msg dan = Did you find the receiver?
tell dan Did you find the receiver?
tell dan = Did you find the receiver?
The equals sign is optional. Outgoing messages are labeled [PRIVATE to
Name]; incoming ones are labeled [PRIVATE from Name]. If the person is
not connected, the game explains that and suggests `online`.
The standard Evennia `page` command also remains available separately,
but `private` is the beginner command documented here.
GLOBAL
Global speech reaches the public NITETIME community channel no matter
which room you occupy. Messages are labeled [NITETIME].
global Anyone at the tower?
chat Anyone at the tower?
nitetime Anyone at the tower?
ooc Anyone at the tower?
Normal player accounts can listen and send. Subscription and
reconnection are automatic. Typing `global` or `chat` with no message
shows brief usage.
ONLINE
Online lists unique connected character names and a player count.
