NITETIME MUD // CURRENT STATE OF THE WORLD ========================================== Verified from the live-project handoff dated 2026-08-14. VERIFIED / DEPLOYED * A persistent shared text world beginning in the Garage * Local, private and global conversation plus privacy-safe ONLINE * Character quests, tasks, progressive hints, journal and explored map * Work Order 608: First Signal and The 03:13 Bearing investigations * Structured Character appearance and versioned visual profiles * Held and worn physical equipment with hand and wear-slot rules * Field Camera framing of rooms, objects, Characters and exits * Five-minute room-bound consent for deliberate Character portraits * 20-exposure battery and full Garage recharge * Private photo history and immutable structured scene snapshots * Persistent photo/lab jobs, safe external handoff and result intake * Stable visual IDs and renderer-safe scene serialization ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT / PARTIAL The wider map is richly atmospheric, but the two investigations named above are the complete verified quest trail. Rich visual canon is concentrated around the Garage proof area. The photo lab is manual and external. Some later progression-gated locations exist without the playable discovery path needed to reach them. One useful playtest lesson is that objects fall into three overlapping roles: INTERACTIVE mechanically does something CLUE looking or reading reveals useful information SCENERY atmosphere and world detail Not every vivid prop has a special verb. That is a signposting and expectation issue under active review, not an instruction to strip the world of texture. LOOK and EXAMINE may be the complete interaction for scenery; TASKS and HINT help distinguish the investigation trail. PLANNED / NOT IMPLEMENTED There is no verified custom combat, crafting, economy, NPC dialogue or AI, dynamic weather, vehicle/boat system, working in-world BBS app, or automated photo developer. Later underground, UFO and side-quest arcs must not be presented as currently playable. Public photo sharing, Files/Gopher photo publication, automatic completion receipts and automatic renderer-reference handling are not deployed.
