NITETIME MUD // QUESTS, TASKS AND HINTS ======================================= HOW QUESTS WORK Quests organize investigations into objectives. Progress belongs to your character and persists across reconnects. A quest can have prerequisites, required objectives, optional objectives and a completion state. When progress changes, the game prints a short update. It does not repeat the entire quest after every action. Repeating an already completed action does not create duplicate progress. quests Lists your known active and completed quests. quests <name> Shows one known quest's objectives and progress. `quest` is an alias. For example: quests bearing tasks Shows the next required objective in the current active quest. `job` and `objective` are aliases. hint Provides a progressive hint for the next incomplete objective. Using it repeatedly moves through staged hints instead of immediately giving away the whole solution. `hint <level>` is also accepted. CURRENT PUBLIC QUESTS WORK ORDER 608: FIRST SIGNAL The opening Garage work order asks you to confirm a repeating carrier detected at 03:13. It uses nearby radio and terminal equipment and leads outside the Garage. It awards persistent discoveries and an achievement, then unlocks the next investigation. THE 03:13 BEARING This investigation involves obtaining and preparing portable field radio equipment, visiting multiple observation sites, recording distinct bearings and comparing the readings. A curious explorer can also find an optional environmental clue. Required equipment must be carried, and each valid site records progress once. This manual deliberately does not reveal solutions, hidden progress requirements or secret destinations. When stuck, use `tasks`, then `hint`.
