On August 27, 2026, Nitetime acquired a Lowrey Jamboree full-console
home organ for free.

It is now physically located in the Nitetime garage/studio.

The organ works.

The original owner even included the original sales receipt.

This is not a little keyboard that can be slid under a desk. It is a
large wood-console home organ with two stacked keyboard manuals, a bass
pedalboard, an expression pedal, internal amplification and speakers.

It has a rhythm section, automatic accompaniment, General Presets,
multiple organ and instrument voices, and enough front-panel controls
to make the machine feel like a small control room with a piano attached.

The rear panel is where the situation becomes more interesting:

At first, this was expected to be a fun old gothic-sounding organ for
Nitetime music. Something with a lot of dust, a lot of reverb, and the
general atmosphere of a haunted church that has a cable modem.

Then I played with it for a few hours.

THE HOME ORGAN REVELATION

This thing is essentially a fairly sophisticated electronic keyboard
workstation split into two manuals, equipped with bass pedals,
amplification and accompaniment, then installed inside a giant wooden
piece of furniture.

The automatic accompaniment is surprisingly effective. Turn on a rhythm
and accompaniment pattern, play a few notes, and the Lowrey can suddenly
sound like lounge jazz, jazz organ, gospel, polka, or big-band backing.

The machine was deliberately designed to let one person sound like a
small band.

That became the appeal immediately.

It is basically a Yamaha keyboard cut into two decks, given bass pedals,
stuffed into a giant wooden cabinet, and taught how to accompany Grandma.

Except now Grandma's organ is connected to Linux.

And that is where an old piece of home entertainment furniture starts
looking less like an organ and more like Nitetime infrastructure.
