My first Amature Radio event, "Museum ship weekend" is over. My radio and primitive antenna was able to tune in and find 1 ship on voice. It came in clear as a bell and doing QSO contacts for folks, but they had to stop transmitting because a visitor with a heart pace-maker came on-board. No idea what ship is was, but the operator call sign was in New Jersey. I am putting together a legitimate "long-wire" antenna that should pull in more signal more consistently. If anyone has 71 feet of bare copper wire and a couple insulators laying around doing nothing, please get in touch.
