I have been playing HAM radio geek all day on my day off. My neighbor and I spent the afternoon seeing how far we could hit FM repeaters. I put my antenna outside and added another 7 feet to the height. We were both only transmitting 5 watts, but we both could send and receive at least 30 miles away. Pretty cool to think, while he is literally just down the block, he could be 60 miles away on the other side of the repeater range. Everyone, go get your ham license and buy a cheap radio. It's neat..
